Universitatea Alexandru Ioan Cuza din Iaşi

The Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași is the oldest higher education institution in Romania. Since 1860, the university has been carrying on a tradition of excellence and innovation in the fields of education and research. With over 38.000 students and 800 academic staff, the university enjoys high prestige at national and international level and cooperates with over 250 universities world-wide.

 Research at UAIC university is top level. In 2008, for the third year in a row, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University was placed first in the national research ranking compiled on the basis of Shanghai criteria. Our teachers are involved in over 400 national and international research projects, with the logistic support of 24 research centres. Striving for excellence, the university takes unique initiatives to stimulate research quality, to encourage dynamic and creative education and to involve its best students in academic life.

 The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (FPSE) is the second largest faculty of the university (2570 students) and embraced the mission to train professionals actively involved in developing Romanian society, in line with the goals of European integration.

 Research at Psychology Faculty situates it among the most dynamic in the country: own reviews and scientific volumes, 4 book collections coordinated at the Polirom Publishing House, 12 international grants and participation at 7 international research projects.

 The Faculty of Psychology will work in this project with Lifelong Learning Institute from Iasi. The institute focuses on research of educational phenomenon during the entire life and training specialists in the field, providing scientific and methodological support for institutes of continuing education and adults in Romania, through the partnership between academic activities and the making activities.

 The activity of the Lifelong Learning Institute is materialized in the research, publications, advisory services, documentation, information, professional and management training, thus providing the necessary tools development of education during the whole life, in accordance with the fundamental documents of the Council of Europe and international bodies in the field.

  The Lifelong Learning Institute is accredited as a research center  and gained a Certificate of honor IIZ DVV Bonn, being nominated in Hall of Fame, in the International Adult and Continuing Education field – Oklahoma University. It is also accredited as  center for assessment of competences (NATB).
